Sandals Royal Caribbean Restaurants: Where to Eat and What to Try

Located in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Sandals Royal Caribbean has really high quality food in our opinion. There are 9 restaurants onsite and we have several favorites, which we’ll tell you all about below.

Our Favorite Sandals Royal Caribbean Restaurants

Royal Thai

This restaurant is located on the private island, and part of the unique experience is taking the dragon boat ride back and forth from the main resort. It’s one of our top restaurants at any Sandals resort because of the variety and tastiness of all the different dishes. We loved it on our first visit and found it to be even better on our most recent visit, especially the spicy options.

It has an open-air Asian design and a nice outside area for dining with a view. Note that it requires reservations.

Bombay House

Another of our favorites at any Sandals is this restaurant, which serves an a la carte breakfast in the morning and delicious Indian cuisine for dinner. Everything is great but we love the Goan Shrimp Curry.

It features an outdoor deck with beautiful views of the water and sunset, and it also requires reservations for dinner.

Spices

This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is a huge buffet with plenty of choices, and lunch and dinner have rotating menus. While it serves a variety of cuisines, we especially like it because they often include great local Caribbean dishes. We also enjoy eating here because it’s quick—you don’t have to wait for service, so you can get right back to having a good time.

Jerk Shack

The second restaurant on the private island is the casual Jerk Shack, which serves local Jamaican jerk dishes. It’s outstanding and definitely a must-do while you’re here.

The Mariner Seaside Bar & Grill

Another casual spot, this is by the water and is perfect for a quick lunch. We love the quesadillas, Jamaican patties, and ham and cheese paninis but there are also burgers, seafood, and more.

Bella Napoli

This lunch spot serves yummy made-to-order brick oven pizza.

The other restaurants at Sandals Royal Caribbean are Le Jardinier, which offers classic French cuisine for dinner and requires reservations; La Tavola, which serves Italian for dinner and has a romantic courtyard; and Cricketers Pub, which offers British pub fare from 4-10pm with late night snacks from 10pm-2am (try the chicken wings). (Note that Le Jardinier is currently being renovated but the menu is being served at Spices.)

Guests at Sandals Royal Caribbean also have the option of dining at Sandals Montego Bay since these two resorts are near each other and share exchange privileges. There’s a free 5-minute shuttle that takes you back and forth.

There are 12 restaurants at Sandals Montego Bay and our three top choices are:

  • Oleander, which has refined Jamaican dishes that are served sharing-style. It’s right on the water and has beautiful sunset views.
  • Soy Sushi, which is at multiple Sandals resorts and always good.
  • Tokyo Jo’s, which is a Mongolian grill where you build your own bowl and they cook it for you.

We enjoy the specialty coffees, pastries, and crepes at the Café de Paris as well. There’s also a Butch’s Steakhouse which is popular with many guests for the prime steaks and fresh seafood.

Regardless of which restaurant you choose, we highly recommend ordering multiple dishes so you can try new things. Since it’s all included, there’s no reason not to!
